Over-Hyped or Too Hyped ?

USA Pitcher Jake Peavy got bombarded by Puerto Rico with SIX runs in two innings as USA lost to Puerto Rico in a mercy rule of 11-1. In two starts for USA, Peavy has given up NINE runs in FIVE innings which brings up a question. Is Peavy Over-Hyped or Too Hyped ? I know this is just like Spring Training to the boys but if you take into consideration Peavy’s post-season stats that includes two starts a with an ERA of 12.10, you begin to see where I am going with this. Perhaps being too hyped up emotionally is defeating Peavy in starts which there is alot on the line. Or you could assume, Peavy is over-hyped as a true legitimate ace that includes dominating high profile games such as post season or all-star caliber contests. In any event, Peavy will hopefully have one more start to avenge for his horrible showing in the WBC.

In Arizona, Padres’ Prospect 1b Kyle Blanks ripped another Homer and P Cesar Ramos pitched another good game. I tell you, Blanks is going to make things difficult for the Padres Front Office, I think they have that power hitter they need right in their own backyard. Anyone who can flat out hit like Blanks, they can easily find him a position in the field. I know there’s a log jam at 1b and 3b, this is the good types of problems a team would like to have. So with that being said, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a trade during the last part of camp. The Padres can ill afford to stand pat and considering if they want to lower the roster salary a damn good package of a position player and starting pitcher can be had for the right price.

Thank god it’s still March and here’s a throwback song from Ides of March titled “Vehicle”.
