Boy did I eat my words !…..

I thought USA’s Manager Davey Johnson decision to start Roy Oswalt was a good one. Now, a day later I am eating that comment after Oswalt was beaten by Japan. I still applaud Johnson’s decision as he went what he thought was the best. Can’t fault any manager who shows that type of gut instincts. If you take a step back and review all the current events, it’s interesting how the shifting of balance not only in terms of financially though baseball as well. The Asian countries are surely making their presence felt world-wide. Sure there are many opinions about how baseball has become a serious matter for other countries besides USA. Though, with the talent-laden country as USA, we should dominate the world and there shouldn’t be any excuses. Just look at what Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and company did during the Olympics. Even Tommy Lasorda was disappointed, the Ambassador of the World Baseball Classic as he said “We taught everyone the game of baseball”. Well, the same can be said for the Automotive and Software Engineering industries. As with any successful organizations or entities, the hardest part is not becoming successful, it’s sustaining the level of dominance. It’s about time, USA goes back to basics, financially and athletically.

With that being said, I’ll send this off with a song titled “Back to Basics” by The Shapeshifters.
