The third and final city on the roadtrip, San Francisco as the Padres take on the Giants with the Ace Jake Peavy on the mound. Win tonight, the Padres assure themselves a successful road-trip as this is only a two game series. I look for CF Jody Gerut and LF Chase Headley to have a good game tonight against Giants P Matt Cain. Historically, Cain has dominated the Padres and let’s cross our fingers this isn’t the case tonight. I am sure the Giants are looking for revenge from being swept earlier this season.

As reported on Corey’s Brock blog, the Padres re-acquired SS Chris Burke from the Seattle Mariners. Burke was with the Padres in spring training and is a very capable substitute. The key is for Burke to bring a consistent defensive performance day in day out, anything offensive will be an added value to the ballclub. Nice acquisition Padres’ GM Kevin Towers !
