So what if Manny Ramirez resigned with the Dodgers. The Dodgers have lost some starting pitching and I feel the NL West is still up for grabs. Though, one Dodger a former Padre thinks otherwise “You can’t give up on a season,” said Estes, who spent parts of the past two seasons with the Padres. “As players, you’ve got to give yourselves a chance going into it. But there’s definitely going to be some growing pains. Even though many of their (Padres) kids have a year or two under their belt now, it’s going to be a long year, I think.” Hmmm, well all I can say is I hope Estes can stay on the roster the whole year unlike his time in San Diego. Otherwise, it’s going to be a very long year again for him in LA.
Back to the Spring training games, the pitching is looking good for the Padres. I am curious to see what prospect(s) actually makes a run at the 4th and 5th spot in the rotation. Kevin Towers always finds some good arms and it wouldn’t surprise me if there is a trade on the horizon. All the arms in camp, there will be some good talent that can be available for the right price. Teams around the league will be looking for pitching depth and the Padres are one team that has it.
As spring progresses, I will break down the team and give my outlook on who will make the team. Mind you, this is all from a Fan’s perspective. Until then, do enjoy the games Padres Fan’s…..
