The Nightmare on Tony Gwynn Ave, Padres 2011 Review…..

Well Well ! It’s October and the month for Halloween. Needless to say the 2011 Padres Season was a Nightmare on Tony Gywnn Ave. Just about everything that could go sour, did so and at an enormous rapid pace. You thought Wall Street had big issues or matter of fact the International Monetary Fund as well. Padres baseball brass of Hoyer, McLeod, and Black surely almost played key parts just like Obama, Bernanke and Geithner do with Wall Street and the Global Bailout Package (GBP). So be well informed Padres season ticket holders. If you want season tickets for the next decade, drop some of your FIAT money (aka dollars) into silver and silver mining stocks. You too, will have your entire decade of Padres season tickets paid off in a year. Ok Ok, so much for the depressing news but let’s try to get more realistic. Ahhh ! I thought I am being realistic and onto the review of “The Nightmare on Tony Gwynn Ave”……

The season down spiral took place when ex 1B Adrian “The Playoff Curse” Gonzalez was sent to Boston for a handful of prospects. These prospects to me equate just like a few prospect mining corporations attempting to find a silver deposit in West Africa and hoping to find a valuable deposits in the ground. Yes, I think I am about to lose my audience here but hopefully a few of you grasp this point. Why send the best 1st baseman in baseball to Boston for a handful of unknowns ? Couldn’t the Padres atleast receive ONE tenure position player with some upside potential. Ahhh ! Now you see where I am going with this, sounds much like Geithner going to China and giving a presentation on how well the USD is going to be. This transaction occurred during the offseason of 2010. We still had hope in the baseball team, just like today a handful of people still have hope on USD.

So what actually happened throughout the 2011 Padres season. Well to sum it up ! I can only bring one scenario to this posting which would actually summarize the entire season. By now, you are all wondering what is that particular scenario. To be quiet honest, only the San Diegans could truly appreciate my wicked sense of humor and that scenario would be the day when “LIGHTS OUT” happened. No no. I am not referring to the Chargers Ex-LB Shawne Merriman. I am actually referring to the day when supposedly one contractor worker in the desert pulled out the plug and whammmo…Lights Out. So with that being said, the trade of Gonzalez was the “Lights Out” affect on Padres baseball for 2011. I will not contribute to the fictional notation of “Global Warming” so that each one of you would have to endure my useless hot air that most of us have to from folks in Sacramento and DC these days.

To sum it up clearly, the Padres 2011 season had a few bright spots. More and more, young prospects came up to the big leagues. Folks like myself, were recepient of boring, unentertaining, and pathetic baseball. Just like if I were to go to Angeola and sit on a dead elephant hoping to see some residual mountain in the distance which may have silver deposit resources. You get my point ! I am bored ! So let’s be truthful. I considered my 2011 Padres season tickets as I would with a few of my commodities stocks, it was tax seasoning loss.

What can we expect for the 2012 Padres Season ? Ummm ! That’s the million dollar question though I would hedge my thoughts that the spot price of silver per ounce would be far more worth than one of my seats. So there is always opportunities when crisis occurs and a few Padres players will emerge from the 2011 season collapse. With this being said, I will end this post traumatic syndrome with an awesome blues video by Mavis Staples titled “See That My Grave Is Kept Clean”
