About time ! The Padres sent down struggling C Nick Hundley and see what Yasmani Grandal can do at the big league level. The Padres day in, night in continue to make errors on the field. Who is accountable for this mess on the field? Who didn’t use Ernesto Frieri as the closer? I’ve seen the team play so uninspired lately and this is a reflection of their manager, whom I think should be fired during the All-Star Break. Time to bring in Phil Nevin and let’s see if Phil can have the same affect as Kirk Gibson had for the Diamondbacks. The clock is ticking Josh Byrnes and trades can only do so much, but the on-field performance truly indicates a lack of concentration and passion.
The Trade Market Heating Up, Calls Being Made To The Padres….
All I have to say about possible trades involving any Padres players is that Front Office does not duplicate the trading blunder of RHP Ernesto Frieri again. I wouldn’t trade 3b Chase Headley to the Dodgers as they have no players in the farm system or major league ready. Though, if Padres can get Dee Gordon, James Loney, and Chad Billingsley, perhaps I would consider it. Otherwise, it’s not wise to trade within the division, Josh unless the Padres can get some serious talent in return. Already, Josh Byrnes has undersold Anthony Rizzo and Ernesto Frieri, two strikes already and the third one will cement Byrnes future.
Waiting for Ownership change……
I am anticipating at anytime some news about the Padres Ownership situation. I hope within a week some form of announcement will be made. The Padres fans needs some type of encouragement and we all are awaiting anxiously to hear some positive news. In the meantime, I will close out this post with a blues music video of Buddy Guy, Ron Wood and Jonny Lang called “Miss You” as we will all certainly miss Padres Bullpen coach Darren Akerfields, who passed away last sunday. A Moment of Silence….
