The Boys Are Back To Work !!

Ahhh Welcome to Snodgrass Muff for the 2013 Padres Baseball Season ! Spring training has just begun and the boys are working out in Peoria, Arizona. Nothing like the sounds of cracking bats and baseball mitts breaking in. The crisp cool spring air reminds everyone that the regular season is just around the corner. Today, I will present the key important players for 2013 and how they will impact the Padres 2013 season, here they are:

  • Yasmani Grandal – Ohhh Yasmani ! Say it ain’t so ! The Grandal Cloud must instantly be vaporized in the clubhouse before the season begins. It’s time for Grandal and everyone else to move on forward and focus on the 2013 season. Yasmani without doubt ! Is a very important clog in the line-up.
  • Bud Black – Ummm, this is the 7th year now leading the Padres. Time to get the Boys into the big dance and no more excuses or shortfall expectations. Black’s 2013 goal should be to get the boys to capture the wild-card spot. Aim High Boys !!!
  • Cameron Maybin – Time to step it up and take it to another level performance wise. Maybin must hit over 15 hrs and produce in the range of 60-70 rbi’s for the Padres. Cameron is the catalyst, the table setter for the entire Padres line-up.
  • Carlos Quentin – The Padres Presence ! No argument from no-one else, if they have baseball awareness. Carlos must be able to stay healthy and appear in atleast 130 games. Simply put ! Quentin is the Headley Protector in the line-up.
  • Casey Kelly – The Gonzalez Kick Back ! Only player the Padres received from the Red Sox trade for Yo Adrian Gonzalez, who can make an impact. The starting spot on the staff is there for Kelly’s taking. All Casey needs to do, is set the tone and take it.
  • Chase Headley – It is real or is it Memorex ? The old good commercial in the 70’s about recording. Well, for Chase this year will either prove “Headley is the real deal” or “Headley reverts to old form” of previous seasons statistics. For the Padres fans, let’s all hope Headley is the real deal for several reasons that I will elaborate on another post in the future.
  • Nick Hundley – Crisis Presents Opportunities, for Hundley it’s “Produce” or “Have a seat on the pine” when Grandal returns. Nick has 50 games to show off his true value to the Padres and perhaps other teams in the league.

Now, as usual I will close out this post with a wicked blues video by Buddy Guy and John Mayer titled “What Kind Of Woman Is This?”. How befitting Padres fans ! “What Kind Of Team Is This?” for the 2013 season. We shall soon find out Padres fans.
